Running Assessments

At our Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists clinic in Leslie, Michigan, we take time to work you through a complete running assessment to look at form, function, and ability.

Effectively Assessing Running Gait

Assessing running gait is a crucial step in understanding an individual's running mechanics and identifying potential areas for improvement. Our experienced team at Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists specializes in conducting thorough running assessments to evaluate your gait pattern, stride length, foot strike, and overall running form. By analyzing these factors, we can provide valuable insights into your biomechanics and help optimize your running efficiency.

The Importance of Form Running

Form running plays a significant role in reducing the risk of knee or ankle injuries and lower back pain while running. By focusing on proper form, you can enhance your body's alignment and distribute impact forces more evenly throughout your muscles and joints. Maintaining a neutral spine, engaging your core, and striking the ground with a midfoot or forefoot landing are essential components of good running form. Our running assessments can identify any form deviations or imbalances, allowing us to provide tailored recommendations and exercises to improve your technique.

Maximizing Performance and Preventing Injuries

Investing time in assessing and improving your running form is not only beneficial for injury prevention but also crucial for maximizing your performance. When your body moves efficiently and effectively, you can optimize your stride, increase your running economy, and achieve better overall results. Our team of experts at Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists will guide you through personalized training plans, which may include strengthening exercises, flexibility work, and running drills. By focusing on proper form and addressing any potential imbalances, we aim to help you reach your running goals while minimizing the risk of injuries or discomfort.
