THE ORTHOPAEDIC REHAB SPECIALISTS STORY

It started with an idea to create a company for orthopedic rehabilitation with Jerry Malone and Richard Kohler in 1987 and has grown over the years. Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists is local to Holt, Okemos, Jackson, Jonesville, and Napoleon and is a privately-owned company of four physical therapists that employ over 110 people today. 

Specializing in physical therapy, injury rehabilitation, chronic and acute pain management, sports performance coaching, and athletic training, ORS has been the leader in mid-Michigan for over 31 years, and continues to receive a 98% patient-satisfaction rating from current and former patients and won a Platinum Practice award from Systems4PT for providing superior patient outcomes from 2014-2018.

Jerry Malone PT

Jerry is one of the co-founders of ORS. He specializes in hip and knee replacement rehabilitation and post-op knee ligament reconstruction. Jerry is trained in the Graston Technique® and has vast experience treating with the PiezoWave. Jerry is a graduate of The Ohio State University. He enjoys golfing, biking, and traveling around the U.S. to see his three children. He is an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association, the Private Practice Section and the Sports Medicine Section of the APTA, the Michigan Physical Therapy Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Kevin Barclay PT, SCS, ATC, CSCS

Kevin is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in both Physical Therapy and Exercise Science in 1988. He became a certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association in 1996 and a Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association in 2001. Kevin became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2015. Kevin has been with Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists since 1991 and has been an owner since 2002. He enjoys exercise and has ran six marathons. Kevin has been married for 28 years and has three daughters and three sons.

Brandon is a co-owner and Physical Therapist. He has been with ORS since 2003 and is a graduate of Alma College with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Exercise and Health Science. He then completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. Brandon’s clinical interests include orthopedics and sports medicine, and performance training. He is married to his wife, Emily and they have four boys named Brogan, Lucas, Graham, and Andrew. Brandon enjoys running, soccer, golf, and is active in his church.

Aaron Holly MSPT, MTC

Aaron has been with ORS since 2001 and became a co-owner in 2012. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University. Aaron is a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and has his Manual Therapy Certification through the University of St. Augustine. His main clinical interests are in sports medicine, spine care, and post-surgical care. In his spare time, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, Brandi, daughter, Camryn, and dog, Sammy. He also enjoys running in marathons, watching his daughter’s soccer games, mountain biking, golfing, and following the Detroit, University of Michigan, and Central Michigan University sports teams.
